#02 Fear of Failure

Welcome to another episode of Son of a Viet Kieu, German heart Vietnamese soul.

Ever been afraid of making mistakes, fearing judgment or punishment? 😰 That was me when I was younger. I constantly worried about doing something wrong—whether at home or in school. Mistakes made me feel like I wasn’t good enough, and I’d go to great lengths to avoid them.

But what happens when we’re judged negatively for our mistakes as kids? For me, it meant striving for perfection, avoiding risks, and staying in my comfort zone. I believed that doing something wrong made me a bad person. I never saw mistakes as learning opportunities—only as failures. 😩

That mindset kept me stuck, afraid to try new things. I hid behind perfectionism, refusing to ask for help because I didn’t want to seem weak or clueless.

Then, I came across a quote that changed everything:

“You don’t get paid to be perfect. You get paid to solve problems.”

This simple truth shattered my perfectionism. I realized it’s not about being flawless but about helping others and learning from mistakes. Now, I embrace new challenges with a focus on growth, not perfection. 💪

Still scared to make mistakes? Remember, they don’t define you. They help you grow. Let’s learn from them together. 🥰✨ #yeudoi
