Welcome to another Reel of Son of a Viet Kieu: German heart Vietnamese soul
Last week, I had an eye-opening conversation with a friend. We were talking about life, and two terms kept coming up: “comfort zone” and “safe space.” It made me wonder—what’s the real difference? 🤔
As a teenager, I lived in my comfort zone. My daily routine was on auto-pilot—school, homework, and work on the weekends. There weren’t many big decisions or risks. But was I truly in a safe space? Not really.
I often clashed with my mom due to cultural differences. Our home wasn’t a place where I felt fully understood or supported. I envied friends who had that bond of trust with their parents.
Fast forward to today, I’m blessed to have a real safe space with my wife. She’s created an environment where I can be vulnerable, be myself, and feel truly at peace. 🌟
Here’s what I’ve learned: A comfort zone is living on auto-pilot, avoiding risks. But a safe space? It’s deeper. It’s about feeling understood, supported, and loved—whether it’s a place, a person, or a relationship. ❤️
Where do you find your safe space?
